St. Patrick's/Potato Fun

I made this game board. The kids rolled a dice and used a potato eraser to move that many spaces. After landing on a picture they recorded on their data sheet. I got the potato (sweet and regular potato) erasers at the teacher's store last year.

Mashed Potato Math

Cute story, I've never read before.

Kids picked a potato and wrote the word on the recording sheet.

Nonsense / Real words

Challenging for some!

My student teacher led this center.

I got this pattern from www.makinglearningfun.com but I came up with the sentence mix/fix.

color word scramble

Kids roll 2 dot dice and write the two digit number.

One of our centers this week was quiet reading with a friend. I also put out a basket of stuffed animals. The kids loved having something to cuddle with while they read.

4 letter spelling.

This response sheet came from www.growingkinders.com
I think I got it last year!

Leprechaun write the room.

Word scramble with popcorn words written on potatoes!!

Roll 2 dice. Put one dice in each potato, add them together, write the answer. Once I modeled this about 3 times the kids were fine to do it independently!

Seuss Week and a couple of President's Day things...

Cloze lesson with George Washington Facts.

After reading "Just Like Abraham Lincoln" we brainstormed character traits Lincoln had and compared them to character traits we might have then we made a booklet.

Dice game my student teacher did with the class.

Beginning blends.

Kids choose an object from the box below and write the beginning and ending sound.

This center goes with "Green Eggs and Ham". So I came up with a color word egg center.

Flip over the eggs, find the match and write the word.

The kids pulled a popcorn word from the box and wrote it in the bubble.

Number identification and stamping 0 to 50.

One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish color word work.

The kids had to match words that had the same beginning sound/letter and write both words.
